Project overview
The Shutter Studio were selected to supply and install bespoke roller blinds within the on-site nursery building at The Hawthorns School. The project focused on creating a practical, comfortable environment for toddlers and staff, with effective light control for daytime nap times while maintaining a clean, safe and professional finish throughout the nursery spaces.
About the project
We were delighted to be chosen to supply and install bespoke Roller Blinds for the nursery building at The Hawthorns School, a beautiful independent school set within stunning Surrey grounds.
Working closely with Andrew and the team, we completed several installations across the nursery rooms, to improve light and temperature control for both toddlers and staff. The large glass windows and doors help bring in lots of natural light, but during the summer months this can cause unwanted heat gain and make it harder for little ones to sleep.
The solution: Roller Blinds
We supplied manual fabric roller blinds in colour “Escape” which is a stunning royal blue, tailored specifically to each window.
The blinds were selected to create a calm and practical environment for the children, particularly during daytime nap times where light control is essential. The rich royal blue fabric provides excellent shading while also complementing the nursery interiors with a clean, modern finish.
As with all education projects, safety, durability, and ease of use were key considerations. All of our manual roller blinds are design with a child-safe clip attached to the wall, preventing any loose cords. The easy-to-operate blinds are a reliable and simple solution for staff while helping create a comfortable environment for toddlers throughout the day.
