Corded Blackout Shutters
Our corded option uses a simple pull cord to raise and lower the blackout blind, similar to other traditional blind styles. The cord is fitted with a child-safe hook to keep it securely out of reach, making it suitable for family homes too.

Cordless Blackout Shutters
For a clean, streamlined finish, our cordless blackout blind features a discreet pull tab at the bottom of the blind. There will be one or two depending on the size of your window. Simply pull the tab to raise or lower the blind, with no visible cord hanging down.

Add blackout blinds to existing shutters
Already have existing shutters? When there is enough space between your shutter frame and windows, we can fit a blackout blind behind them! This gives you excellent light control without having to completley replace your shutters. This will be an effective solution to seasonal challenges (like those bright summer mornings) with huge costs and stress. Please contact our team with some rough measurements of the spacing between your shuttrs and windows, so we can determine the best option.
Solid shutters
Solid shutter panels provide excellent light coverage, as they are designed without the classic louvres that most shutters come with. This helps to reduce the amount of natural light entering the room while maintaining the classic look of shutters. Having solid shutters in a Tier-on-Tier style is a great way of enjoying natural light into your home during the day, without sacrificing your privay.
Cassette blinds
For enhanced blackout performance, we can offer cassette blinds. These are designed to house the blind within a fitted cassette around the window. Are blackout shutters completely blackout?
Blackout shutters are designed to be as close to 100% blackout as possible. The integrated honeycomb blackout blind sits snugly within the custom shutter frame, so when closed behind the shutter panel, provides an additional layer of coverage to regular shutters. When both are closed, they work together to create a significantly darker room, perfect for bedrooms.
Do blackout shutters provide extra insulation?
Absolutely! The integrated blackout blind within our blackout shutters is a honeycomb-style pleated blind. Its cellular design helps trap air, creating an additional layer of insulation at the window. When combined with wooden shutters, it can help reduce heat loss during colder months and limit heat entering through the window in warmer weather.
Can I use the shutters without the blackout blind?
Yes, the blackout blind can operate independently from the shutter panels, so you can use your shutters as normal during the day when the blind isnt needed and then lower in the evening. The customised frame is designed so the blind will be completely hidden behind the top frame whilst open, giving you a completely uninterupted view during the day.
What is the warranty for blackout shutters?
Our plantation shutters come with a 10-year warranty, while the integrated blackout blind comes with a 2-year warranty, giving you added peace of mind for many years to come.
What are the alternatives to blackout shutters?
Blackout blinds are popular to alternatives to blackout shutters. We offer a variety of blinds with blackout fabrics such as Roller and Roman blinds, as well as blinds within a cassette, to increase light coverage even further. Standard plantation shutters also provide a good amount of light and privacy control without the integrated blackout blind.
How to clean blackout shutters?
Like all our shutters, blackout shutters are easy to maintain. We recommend regularly dusting the shutter panels with a dry microfibre cloth to remove any dust and dirt, paying particular attention to the louvres and behind the framework where dust can collect. Any fingerprints or marks can be removed with a babywipe.
The integrated blackout blind can also be gently dusted to keep it clean and looking its best. Take care when operating the pull tab or cord, using them gently and as intended to help keep the blind in good condition.
